Lily & Stevie

These two sure are going to miss each other when we both move at the end of the year...

He Rolls

Jake is now rolling from his back to his side! I thought he did it yesterday, but thought maybe I was imagining things, but today he absolutely did it a few times all on his own! What a big boy!

Blog Overhaul

I decided that with the addition of Jake to our family that I should probably update our blog. I tried to find a template that would be fitting for both genders, but I couldn't find one I liked and that I was able to download correctly, so even though it is different - it is still pink. With a sister like Lily, Jake should probably get used to pink anyway :o) Hope y'all enjoy the new layout!

He Laughs!

Jake laughed for the first time on Sunday! So far it is just a few "heh heh heh's" but it is the cutest thing. He did it first when I was tickling his leg, but now I can get him to do it when I talk to him excitedly, as well as tickling his chest.

Lily's "Pimples"

While watching a show about different types of dogs:

Stevie: "Greyhounds are fast? My dog is a greyhound!"

Lily: "Yeah, and my dogs are pimples! Cause they have lots of pimples on their bellies."

Mom: "Lily, your dogs are pit bulls, not pimples."

Lily: "Ohhh, I thought they were pimples!"

The Pups

My Mom & Dad were somehow able to capture this picture of all four of the dogs while they were pup-dog-sitting when we were in Texas. Zoey, Vader, Bucca & Rocky
Our "vicious" dogs...haha

Swimming Lessons

Lily has been taking swimming lessons on post for the past week. She is doing amazingly well and we are so proud of her! I can't believe everything she has learned in only a week. The first day of class, she did not want to put her whole head under the water - she would put her face in, but she wasn't comfortable putting her whole head in. By the end of the first week, she was going completely under the water (all by herself!), and retrieving plastic crabs from the bottom of the pool (in the shallow end - about 3 feet of water)! I could hardly believe it when I saw her do it. She is also swimming short distances under the water completely unassisted! GO LILY! I am so impressed with the amount of improvement she has made in such a short time span. She will be continuing her swim lessons until the middle of August - I can't wait to see how much more she learns!

Here Comes the Drool...

Well, apparently with 10 weeks of age also comes drool...I thought it would start when he started teething, but I guess not. Luckily, he is just so adorable, the drool doesn't really make a difference :o)
Jake is changing so quickly & developing in such leaps and bounds that it's hard to keep up! He has become a little talking machine - constantly making new sounds and noises. He started this cute little squeak while we were in Houston and it seems every day he's making a different sound or discovering new tones and volumes to his voice. It seems that his favorite thing to say is something that sounds like "ahgoo" - and he smiles away when someone makes the sound back to him. He's so much fun.
He is holding his head up pretty well now and is starting to pick his head up to look at us while he is lying on his tummy. It's amazing what a difference a few weeks makes. It was practically just yesterday that we were having to hold his head up for him.
He just adores his big sister. She can always make him smile and he will just stare at her as long as she will give him attention. He still loves his bouncer, as well. He will sit & stare - kicking his feet & moving his arms whenever he is in it. He's also discovered his hands - he stares at them a lot, moves them around & his favorite thing is to suck on them.
He is sleeping amazingly well - even I can't believe how well he's sleeping! The majority of the time he will sleep a solid 8 - 9 hours at night! The other night he went to sleep about 11pm and he did not wake up until 8:15am! Unbelievable! I kept getting up & checking on him, but he was sound asleep. When he does wake up, he never wakes up crying -he usually lays there for a few minutes cooing & stretching. He is such a good baby!

Farewell For Now, Texas

Our last evening in Texas, Kris came out to Katy to join us for a family dinner.

Take a good long look at this...you won't see Grant holding a baby very often! :o)

Lily didn't want Uncle Kris to leave!

Fun with Paw Paw

We spent a day visiting "Paw Paw's country" - and Miss Lily had herself a day of fun with Paw Paw
Squirt gun wars:
Paw Paw surprised Lily with a makeshift swimming pool - which she loved. She loved it even more when Paw Paw decided to take a dip with her!
