Then There Were Three...

We had an extremely sad good-bye on Saturday...our friends Kim, Kallie & Haley have moved back to Connecticut. (Kim's husband's army contract is up, and they are getting out of the military.) It was really hard to say good-bye to them. We all became such good friends, and having these friends made our lives so much more enjoyable here. It so hard to make good friends because of the life we have, but these people became like a family to us. Now, only Jamie, Kate & I are left... We are so sad to see Kim & the girls go & we'll miss them terribly, but we wish them all luck in their new lives in Connecticut.

Playtime with Lily & Jake

I was able to capture some pretty cute bonding the other morning...Lily was playing peek-a-boo with Jake & blowing raspberries on his belly. He, of course, was eating it all up.

Look Who's Starting to Push Up

Jake has started pushing himself up when he's lying on his tummy - so cute! He looked like he surprised himself the first time he did it - this was actaully the second time he did i t- I grabbed the camera as soon as I saw him do it the first time...

Jake's New Toys

Jake received some new toys this week, courtesy of Grammy & Papa, and he has been fully enjoying them!

Loves his walker!

Bumbo!

What a happy boy!

It's Time for Cereal!

Well, it's about that time to start giving Jake baby cereal & then baby food. These pics are from the first time I tried to give him some. He wasn't sure at first, but he got the hang of it pretty quickly. By the second time we tried a cereal feeding, hardly any cereal was coming back out & he was opening his mouth waiting for me to put the spoon in. What a big boy!

Fun in Florida

Here are some pictures from Lily's week in Florida with Grammy & Uncle Doug.

On the plane - not looking all that excited...

Playing at Uncle Doug's house - looking a little more excited

She was so happy to see Uncle Doug - she attached herself to his leg & I'm not sure if she let go her whole visit :o)

Luckily they missed a direct hit from Hurricane Fay - but they did get a good amount of rain the first few days they were there, limiting their outdoor activities... It did clear up for a little while the first day, so they were able to shop & see some sites.

DAY 1
City Walk at Universal Studios

Eating her dessert out of a martini glass at Hard Rock Cafe - what are those people thinking?!

Day 2
Chuck E Cheese

Day 3
Universal Studios

Home for the day - showing off her new accessory

Day 4
Disney's Animal Kingdom
Watching the Lion King show with Uncle Doug
Daisy Duck
Goofy
Brother Bear (I think)
Mickey

Minnie
Donald
Safari Ride

Behind Lily & Uncle Doug is "Mt Everest" where the abominable snow monster lives - there is a roller coaster that runs through the mountain & the monster tries to get them at the end - Lily says she loved it (she loves all roller coasters) and said she wasn't scared, but I have a picture that betrays her bravery...she looks absolutely terrified in the picture! (I will try to scan it in)

Day 5
Gator Land
Getting ready in the morning - Uncle Doug was on the other side of the door playing with Lily
It looks like he's trying to pull her under the door!

Petting a baby alligator - you couldn't get me near that thing!

Petting a snake! EW! She is far braver than I

Playing at the waterpark

Their last night in Florida, they went to Downtown Disney for dinner & a little shopping
What vacation is complete without dinner at Rain Forest Cafe - Lily's favorite!

This chocolate cake is as big as she is!!!

Lily has a great time visiting Uncle Doug in Florida. She was having so much fun, Brian & I barely got to talk to her all week! She would get on the phone, yell (because of her excitement) a few sentences about her day and then say "Okay, here's Grammy!", throw the phone at Grammy & get back to her fun. She was far too busy to talk to us. I'm glad she had such a wonderful time - it was a great way to end her summer. Thank you Grammy!!
