Jake's First Haircut

Courtesy of Dad
It was just getting way too long...
Getting ready...Jake's not looking too excited...

The aftermath
He doesn't really have a mohawk - or a Mosack as Lily kept calling it! - we were just messing around with his hair afterward. I love this pic - isn't he just to die for?

Vader Update

Vader had his neutering on Wednesday & he is doing well. He was a little woozy when he first got home, but he looks a hundred times better than he did when he had to have one of his teeth pulled. He wasn't very happy with me when I had to leave yesterday to take Jake to the doctor & I had to put his cone-head collar on, but he survived. He was actually feeling well enough to play this morning & was trying to get me to play with him, but he needs to stay calm for the next few days so he doesn't tear his stitches. He doesn't seem to be in too much pain and as you can see from the pictures, Mama Zoey is taking good care of him. Hopefully this will fix the problems he's been having & he will be a healthy, happy puppy dog from now on.

Jake's First Illness

Well, we have survived Jake's first illness. Thankfully it wasn't too bad & through it all he was in pretty good spirits. He had a little stomach bug yesterday & was vomiting for a good portion of the morning. He refused to eat anything for about 8 hours, but after a long nap he was feeling better & took half a bottle. We took him to the doctor, but they couldn't find anything wrong and since he had no fever, they said it was probably a little virus & if he wasn't feeling better today to bring him back. He seems to be feeling much better today, so we're grateful it wasn't worse than that.

Open House

We attended the Open House at Lily's school this week. We had lots of fun meeting Lily's friends, talking with her teachers, seeing all the projects they have been working on & getting a tour of the school from our tour guide, Lily.

Here is Lily with her teacher, Mrs. Wicks. Mrs Wicks told us Lily is doing very well in school. She is very eager to learn and is a natural leader. She said she contributes a lot to the class and she will be sad to see her go when we move next month. She also said that whatever school Lily will be attending next will be lucky to have her. She said she is very impressed with how smart Lily is and that she can tell we teach her and talk to her a lot at home.

This is some of Lily's artwork that is hung on the walls in her school.

In Social Studies, they have been learning about being a good citizen. This is their "good citizen quilt".
Here is Lily's contribution to the quilt:

Cute Pics from This Week

Lily was waiting for the bus this morning & Brian told her to sit down (meaning on the couch) because it wasn't due for another 10 minutes - so she went & got her desk chair & put it in front of the door so she could keep watching for the bus. Silly girl... :o)

Lily's friend Kylie surprised us with a visit this week - Lily was so happy to see her!

My Red Sox buddy...

Jake has been the only one willing to watch the Red Sox play in the ALCS with me. He gets all excited when I say "Yay Red Sox!" & wave his arms around. Sadly, the Red Sox lost to the Tampa Bay Rays in game 7...

Getting ready for the game: Apparently Jake was not as excited as I was to watch the game...I went to feed the dogs during one of the commercial breaks and when I came back this is how I found him:
Sound asleep!!

Smiles...

I have been attempting to capture one of Jake's smiles in a picture to no avail. Every single time he sees the camera, his smile fades away before I can get it. In every single one of these pictures he had a big silly grin on his face & the second he saw the light on the camera light up to take a pic, he looked at me like this:

I even tried to cover the light up so he wouldn't see it, but it didn't work...

Then we were playing outside and...

FINALLY - I got one!

HA! Another one!And another...

I also assembled his Jumperoo this week, which he thoroughly enjoys.

Checking it out for the first time:It's a winner!
