Beach Days

Of course no trip to Texas would be complete without a trip to the beach house! We had a great beach weekend with perfect weather - we couldn't have asked for a better time.

Visit to Texas

Lily has been begging to go to Mimi & Grant's house for months & months and we knew Jake needed to meet the rest of his Texas family, so we finally made it down to Texas for a much needed visit!

The first thing Lily did was run to get her bathing suit on & then it was right into the pool for her.

Jake's First Trip on an Airplane!

Jake's first airplane trip went very smoothly. He and Lily were both so well behaved - these babies were made for traveling! ;o)

Waiting for the airplane in his Moby - traveling with this made life so much easier!! Thinking back on all the traveling I did with Lily when she was a baby makes me wish I had one of these then!

My car had to spend a day at the shop, so we spent the day at a nearby mall while it was being repaired. Here's Lily posing in the play area:

We all had so much fun & were sad to see Grammy & Papa go. Hopefully they will be able to come back & visit soon!

2 Month Check Up

Well, Mr Jake is now 2 months old - which means a check up & the dreaded 2 month vaccinations... His check up went well - he is now weighing in at 11.2 lbs and is 23 inches long (in the 50% range for both height & weight). Just growing away! The doctor said he looks great & is progressing perfectly. His shots went as well as can be expected. (Other than a long wait - damn Kenner clinic...) He only cried for a second - I think Mom was more upset than he was. He's been doing amazingly well sleeping at night. Most nights he will go for 6.5 to 7.5 hours! Although during the day he is staying awake much more & he takes little cat naps throughout the day rather than a couple longer naps. While he's awake he is so alert & animated. He just smiles & coos away at all of us. He's just the best little baby!

So now that we have all that out of the way, the big boy is ready for his next big adventure - his first airplane ride!! That will be exciting...I hope Texas is ready for him :o)

Out of the Mouths of Babes

Lily: "Grammy! Your not supposed to eat cupcakes before dinner!"

Grammy: "Well, this is my dessert, I'm just eating it first. I'm not going to have dessert after dinner tonight."

Lily: (very sternly) "Well, you better not! No cupcakes tonight Grammy!"

Mom: "Lily, don't talk to Grammy that way"

Lily: (very matter-of-fact) "Well, I know what's best for her!"

Postponed 4th of July Fireworks

Due to the rain on the 4th, the fireworks were cancelled, so the neighboring town postponed their fireworks until the following night. Here are some pics of everyone watching the firework display:

4th of July

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY TO EVERYONE!!!

Grammy & Papa came to celebrate Independence Day with us since this will be our last 4th of July here & the 4th of July celebration here is definitely worth seeing. Unfortunately we were rained out (of course! - it seems to rain every Fourth of July here) so we missed out on the fireworks... We were able to squeeze in a few pictures and couple turns on the bounce castle for Lily before it started pouring though...
