Just when I think Lily's fashion sense may be getting better, she walks into the bedroom like this today:

I asked her what in the world she was wearing and she explained to me that she wanted to dress like 'Fancy Nancy' (a character from one of her books) - so I guess it's not really her fashion sense, but Fancy Nancy's I need to question. :o)
Well, there's not too much exciting news to report this week. Lily went to her dentist appointment on Thursday. She was pretty good, but I was a little surprised that she wasn't as calm and well behaved as she was at the last few dentist appointments. She refused to let the dentist take side x-rays with their portable x-ray machine. She did let them take the panoramic one with the machine that moves around her head, but that was only after a bribe to go to Toy's R Us if she let them do it. She also freaked out when she saw the tool they use to scrape the plaque off her teeth (the one with the little hook on the end) and wouldn't let them use that either. But all in all, she did pretty good and her teeth received a clean bill of health. We were told that her permanent molars will be coming in soon and that within the next year she will start losing her baby teeth. (Which made Mom a little sad - she's just growing up too fast!)
Lily's new favorite song (the old one was 'Fly' by Tim McGraw or as Lily liked to say "1,2,3 like a bird I seen, cause you've given me the most beautiful chicken wang" lol) is 'Where I Come From' by Alan Jackson - or "the cornbread and chicken song" which Lily has named it. Whenever Lily & I are driving somewhere in the car, she requests this song & we have to listen to it over & over. Luckily we usually aren't going very far, so I don't have to listen to it for too long, but I am starting to hope she finds a new favorite song soon, because this one is getting a little old. :o)
I do have a cute story about Lily this week. On Saturday we went to Andrew's (Stevie's youngest brother's) 1 year birthday party. We got home around 6:30 and Lily asked if she could watch tv for a little while. I said yes and when I checked on her a half hour later, she was fast asleep! I was worried she would wake up in the middle of the night hungry, since we hadn't had a chance to have dinner yet, but she slept all the way through till 8:30 Sunday morning! The only time she woke up was at about 2am - she woke up & said "Mom? Your the greatest Mommy in the whole wide world - and Daddy is the best Daddy, and Vava and Zoey are the best dogs and I have the best baby in the world too" Then she leaned over & gave me a kiss, gave both the dogs a kiss and gave my belly a kiss. (SO SWEET!) Then she said "Mom? Can I go brush my teeth?" I said sure, so she went & brushed her teeth, climbed back into bed & fell asleep until morning! What a sweet, sweet girl!
In other news, Vader seems to have fully recovered from whatever was wrong last week - so I guess the antibiotics cleared up whatever it was. Thank Goodness! However, he was subjected to being locked in Lily's room this morning & being "dressed up" (which usually only Zoey will tolerate). I went to check on them & he wasn't looking very happy to be wearing kitty ears and several pink and purple necklaces - but Lily sure thought it was funny. I wish I could have gotten a picture before he escaped under the bed. Zoey on the other hand was happy to be dressed up in a tutu and some necklaces while Lily read her one of her new books - "Bad Dog, Marley!" (the children's version of Marley & Me by John Grogan) It's a really cute book, but poor Zoey thought she was in trouble every time Lily said "Bad dog, Marley!" (which is said a lot).
Still no news about Brian's recruiting orders. He has filled out all the necessary paperwork and he is going to try to come to Fort Lee next weekend to submit his packet to the company. He should have his commander's interview then as well, so hopefully we will know something soon.
Here's an update on the baby's progress too:
Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and he weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds him, but that volume will decrease as he gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. His eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after he's born, he'll keep his eyes closed for a good part of the day. When he does open them, he'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means he can only make out objects a few inches from his face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)
