Boston Science Museum

Grammy took us to the Boston Science Museum in May. There was so much to do & see! Lily loved the human body exhibit where she could see the muscles & organs inside the body. They watched a baby chick trying to peck it's way out of it's egg & saw a show with a real great horned owl, which they thought was very cool. I think the biggest attractions of the day were the dinosaur exhibit & the Butterfly Garden.

AHHH!! Lily & Kylie dinosaurs!

Maymont April 06

Maymont is a little gem tucked into Richmond that not a lot of people know about. I am glad we learned about it! There are all kinds of animals & beautiful gardens. Lily loves visiting here! Here are a few pics from our most recent visit.

Beach Baby

We went to the beach while visiting Mimi & Grant in April. Our friends Karen & Chad, their son Chase & Chad's sister Camille came to visit us while we were at the beach. Lily & Chase were friends when we lived in Texas, but they hadn't seen each other in a long time, so I was worried about how they would get along. There was no need for worry though because the two hit it & were inseparable! They had a great time at the beach, building sandcastles, playing in the ocean & chasing each other (and Chad) with seaweed.

My friend Kylie

Here's a couple cute pics of Lily & her friend Kylie. They are both always hamming it up for the camera. Two peas in a pod! (I'm sure it has nothing to do with their moms constantly sticking cameras in their faces from the minute they were born! :oP)

Frog in my throat

Today Lily had a little cough, but nothing very serious. She came up to me & said "Mom, I need to go to the doctor" I asked her why she needed to go to the doctor & she said "Because I have a frog in my throat & doctors take frogs out & put them back in the pond!" (Of course - what was I thinking?)
Could she get any cuter?!

Easter Egg Cupcakes

Lily & Kylie helped us make Easter egg shaped cupcakes for Easter this year. Here are the girls with the finished product. It was a lot of work, but the girls had endless patience & lots of great ideas on how to decorate these eggs!

Boston Children's Museum

We took a trip to the Boston Children's Museum this week. Lily & Kylie watched a "Three Little Pigs' play, played in "Arthur's World", where they had a green screen which made it look like they were dancing with Arthur & his friends, scaled the rock wall, made Mommy crawl through the "Big Dig Construction zone"& play in a real bobcat. They even got to pretend they were in 'Blue Man Group' (minus the blue part) & play with the actual instruments used by Blue Man Group in their shows! The girls over looking Boston Harbor

Papa's Birthday

Lily helped Papa celebrate his birthday this year - she even helped him blow out his candles! I think Lily gets just as excited about other peoples birthdays as she does her own!

Memphis Ducks

We took a duck tour while we were in Memphis, which was nice because you got to see Memphis from the land & water. We learned all sorts of interesting things about Memphis. Did you know that the MGM lion (the lion that roars at the beginning of all MGM films) lived at the Memphis Zoo for the majority of his life? We saw the Lorraine Hotel (now the National Civil Rights Museum) where Martin Luther King was assassinated, Sun Studios, the Gibson Guitar Museum - where all Gibson Guitars are made, the first house Elvis bought, the building that was in the movie 'Ghostbusters' & AutoZone park, home of the Memphis Redbirds. We also took a short ride on the Mississippi River & saw the M bridge & Mud Island. They gave out these lovely "quackers" at the beginning of the tour, which Lily thought was great. They were fun on the tour, but now we have 4 of them at my house (because Grammy & Uncle Doug were "nice" enough to let us take theirs home), and I can't begin to tell you how nice it is to have Lily & her friends quacking through the house when they come over to play...
